Before we get into the Dos and don'ts of contouring, these are some important things to know:
- Contouring is meant to mimic the bone structure and shadows of your face
- Bronzing; similar to contouring is usually used to bring a slight warmth to the structure of the face after you apply foundation.
- Bronzer shades have a warm undertone
Now let's get into it. Here are the top 7 contouring dos and Dont's
Do: Use a shade with a cooler undertone and you can use either a powder or cream
Don’t: Use a shade more than 2 shades darker than your skin tone to avoid a harsh look
Do: Balance out your contour by also highlighting the areas of the face you want to bring forward (under eye & bridge of the nose)
Do:When applying contour, it is usually best to start from the corner of the ear to the outside corner of the eye depending on your face shape.
Don’t:contour like everyone else! No two face shapes have to be contoured the same way
Do:If you’re having trouble figuring out where to place your contour, touch the areas around your cheekbones to get a better idea of your bone structure.
- Do: Know your face shape! It can really help you understand what kind of contouring will suit you!
