Questions you should ask your stylist!

It can be pretty daunting looking for the right hairstylist or makeup artist that is going to meet all of our needs. Even when we feel like we’ve found the right one to hire, there are always questions we want answered before officially booking our appointment. Here are some questions we think you should ask a stylist you are considering hiring!

How long have you been styling?

A question like this will give you basic insight on your stylist. Their experience will often tell you how confident they are in the style of makeup or hair they do and this will open up the conversation for you to ask other questions.

How much do you charge?

We sometimes have an idea of what we would like to pay for certain services. The cost of a service can also be a deal breaker for some of us. So, it is important to know how much your stylist charges as well as what the service entails.

Do you offer trials?

If you are looking for a stylist to hire for a special event this will be an important question to ask. Trials are a great way to figure out if you like the makeup artist’s or hairstylist’s style of service. Trials also usually cost half the price of the full service, so you won’t have to worry about spending too much if you don’t decide to hire them.

What styles are you most comfortable with?

Some stylists specialise in bridal services while other’s specialties lie in other areas. Depending on what you are looking for, be sure to ask your stylist what styles they prefer doing when narrowing down your search.

What sanitary practices do you use?

Just like with any service, it is important to know that you are protected against the spread of harmful bacteria. Now more than ever, it is important to inquire about any sanitary practices your potential stylist may use, in order to protect yourself.

Luckily for all you clients out there, the BeautyNBrushes app will be launching soon! It will provide you with everything you need to know about a stylist before hiring them. You will be provided with an endless list of stylist profiles, while also being given a space to exchange tips and ideas with fellow clients and beauty enthusiasts!

Happy Slaying!
